Selena Gomez

Selena Marie Gomez (/s@'li:n@ 'goUmez/ s@-LEE-n@ GOH-mez born on 22 July 1992) is an American actor, singer, and producer. Gomez began her acting career with the television show for children called Barney & Friends (2002-2004). She became famous as Alex Russo, a teenage character on the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-12). As well as her television work, Gomez appeared in the films Another Cinderella Story (2008), Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009), Ramona and Beezus (2010), Monte Carlo (2011), Spring Breakers (2012), Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016), and The Dead Don't Die (2019) as well as voiced Mavis in the Hotel Transylvania film franchise (2012-2022). Gomez was the executive producer of Netflix's 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020), and Living Undocumented (2018) through July Moon Productions. She also stars in the Hulu comedy series, a mystery that airs on Hulu called Only Murders in the Building (21-21-222). Gomez received praise from critics about the show, as well as nominations for a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award as producer. Gomez released three albums in her former group, Selena Gomez & the Scene All of them made it to the top ten on the US Billboard 200 and were certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA): Kiss & Tell (2009), A Year Without Rain (2010), and When the Sun is Down (2011). Stars Dance, her debut solo album, was a huge success on the U.S. Billboard 200, while its first single, "Come & Get It" was a top ten in the US Billboard Hot 100. Gomez's second studio album, Revival (2015) which debuted at the top of the charts in the US, was certified platinum by the RIAA which led to three US top-ten entries: "Good for You", "Same Old Love", "Hands to Myself". Rare (2020) The singer's third studio album became her third consecutive top ten album in the US. The first single, "Lose You, to Love Me" was the first single to top the charts in the US. The album was released Revelacion in Spanish in 2017, which earned her a Grammy Award nomination for Best Latin Pop Album. She has received various accolades and was named Billboard's Woman of the Year in 2017 as well as breaking fifteen Guinness World Records. Time magazine named Her one of the top 100 people in the world in 2020. She is a well-known social media star and the most followed musician and actress on Instagram. Gomez is also involved in cosmetics, handbags, and perfume. She has been an UNICEF Ambassador from the age of 17.
