Feminist Frequency was founded on the 9th of September 2009 by Sarkeesian, university student who has been fascinated by issues concerning gender and feminism since a long period of. She was a young woman with a dream to develop a series of web videos that would examine gender roles in games. In the end, she ended up being the victim of online harassment. But the harassment did not discourage her. The experience only strengthened her as a feminist journalist.
