Harry Edward Styles is an English singer, songwriter, and musician from England. He was one of the members of One Direction. Based in Holmes Chapel in Cheshire England Styles is the son of Des Styles & Anne Cox. Harry Styles, a former student at the Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School formed a group called White Eskimo with three fellow students. After winning the Battle of Bands 2009 thanks to their outstanding performance, they were also a part of the Battle of Bands in 2010. Although he has always had an interest in the music world however, despite his love for it, he wished to be a lawyer or an physiotherapist. He worked for a time part-time in a bakery in his city and hoped to assist economically at home. In the year 2010, Harry Styles presented audition for The X Factor where he did the track Is not She Lovely by Stevie Wonder and was selected. Due to this, his group had to be separated. Nicole Scherzinger proposed to Harry Styles that he be part of a brand new group, One Direction. The other group members included Liam Payne Zayn Mallik Niall Horan Louis Tomlinson. Simon Cowell sponsored the young group in 2010. In the contest, the group played songs, such as My Life Would Suck Without You by Kelly Clarkson and Total Eclipse of the Heart from Bonnie Tyler so the group became one of the candidates to win the contest. They came third place, just behind Rebecca Ferguson. Harry Styles' group didn't take home the prize, however Cowell did pay two million dollars to One Direction for them to agree to a contract with Syco.
